Newly built two-story elevated composite deck with white railing, black aluminum balusters, dual staircases, and a freshly poured concrete patio underneath at the back of a residential home.

About this build

The homeowners wanted to make real use of a steep backyard. We designed and built a high-clearance elevated deck off the main floor, framed in pressure-treated lumber and finished with composite decking that holds up to weather year-round.

Two staircases — one to the side yard and one straight down to the new concrete patio — keep the deck connected to the rest of the property. The poured slab underneath gives the family a shaded, covered outdoor room for grilling and hanging out, with direct walk-out access from the basement door.

Every post, beam, and railing was set on-site by our owner-led crew, with structural inspections passed at each stage.

Ground-level composite deck — before & after

A second backyard project: we tucked a low-profile composite deck into the space under an existing upper deck, turning a patchy strip of grass into a clean, usable outdoor room with a rich brown grooved finish.

Deck staining & restoration

Weathered deck refresh — sanded, cleaned, and re-stained

Not every deck needs to be torn out. This existing wood deck was gray, mildewed, and worn from years of weather. We sanded the boards and railings down to clean wood, washed the deck, and applied a rich semi-transparent stain to bring back the warm grain and protect it for years to come.

Whole-home deck rebuild

Front & back deck rebuild — composite with aluminum railing

A full front-and-back deck replacement on a single-story ranch. We rebuilt the front entry deck with steps to the driveway and a wrap-around landing, and added a large back deck with a wide staircase to the yard — all in low-maintenance two-tone composite decking with brown composite railing and black aluminum balusters.
